The Fiano di Avellino Colle delle Ginestre D.O.C.G. of Tenuta del Meriggio

Classification: White still wine

Wine obtained from Fiano grapes coming from selected vineyards located in Candida and Montefalcione that takes into account both the particular microclimatic characteristics of the places and the age of the vineyard, both suitable to produce fresh, long-lived, complex and fruity wines. It is vinified in white and aged in steel for about six months on thin lees.

ORIGIN OF THE GRAPES AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VINEYARDS: Vineyards located in the municipalities of Candida and Montefalcione, bred on espalier vines with an average age of 25 years. 400-450 metres above sea level.

SOIL TYPE: Sandy – medium dough

PLANTING YEAR: Candida 1990 approx.; Montefalcione 2000 approx.

PLANT DENSITY: 3000 vines per hectare

VINEYARD TRAINING SYSTEM: Guyot

PLANTING / YEALD PER HECTARE: 80 ~ 100 quintals

HARVEST SEASON: First decade of October

COLOR: Straw yellow.

TASTE: Fresh, savoury and persistent on the palate.

SCENT: Of balsamic herbs and white fruits.

PAIRINGS: Pasta and risotto with vegetables and shellfish, mushroom soups, sautéed white meat, stewed fish, seasoned cheese, fried fish, grilled fish, glazed or creamed desserts.
